4 Nights Cape Town: Arrive at Cape Town airport and collect your pre-booked car and Tour Package with Travel Manual, maps and directions to accommodations. Accommodation is at a backpackers lodge close to town and the Waterfront and the dormitory is in the main house. You are centrally located to explore all that Cape Town has to offer. All the options of what to do and where to go will be in the Travel Manual. 2 Nights Knysna: Accommodation is at a backpackers lodge close to town - walking distance to shops, the Waterfront and train station where the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe steams in twice a day. The list of adventure activities includes hiking, abseiling, canoeing, quad biking, etc. Breakfasts and home-cooked dinners are available. A complete list of what to do and where to go will be in your Travel Manual. 1 Night Plettenberg Bay: The backpackers lodge is set up on the hill with a panoramic view over a beautiful tidal lagoon and the Indian Ocean. Conveniently close to shops, bars and restaurants and close to several beautiful beaches. It has a garden large enough for cricket or volleyball or just day dream in a swaying hammock. A bonfire is lit every night for a barbeque and there is a separate video room with pool table. Activities include hiking, canoeing, dolphin and whale watching trips, glider flights etc.
1 Night Tsitsikamma: There is much to see and do on your way there and a full list will be in your Travel Manual. Accommodation is in a backpackers lodge close to an adventure centre where you can do hiking, canoeing, boat cruises, scuba diving and snorkelling as well as the Tree Top Canopy Tour where you swing from tree to tree in the woods. All possible activities will be in your Travel Manual. 1 Night Port Elizabeth: Your backpackers lodge is one of the closest to the beach, nightlife and the Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment Centre. Don't miss out on the dolphin show before leaving. Free breakfast included. 1 Night East London: This comfortable, clean backpacker's lodge has excellent ablutions and a large, airy lounge. It is located just 50m from Orient Beach and restaurants. East London has the largest river port in the country and those in the know say that surfing at Nahoon Reef is comparable to Sunset Beach in Hawaii. 3 Nights Drakensberg: This lodge, set amongst indigenous gardens against the backdrop of the peaks of the Drakensberg Mountains at Champagne Valley, serves as an excellent base from which to explore the mighty Drakensberg range. It is centrally located making many other areas of the greater Park accessible by short drives. If you're a serious hiker or climber, you'll find expert advice and guidance for your treks. If you want a pleasant walk, opportunities abound amongst the diverse natural flora and bird life.
2 Nights St Lucia: Accommodation is in a backpacker's lodge, situated in town, in the great St Lucia Wetlands Park. The local beaches are unspoilt and the Hluhluwe Game Reserve is nearby. The backpacker restaurant serves meals. There is an info centre which offers a multitude of trips from local day tours and game viewing to diving in Sodwana. Still travelling north along the highway, you enter Swaziland at the border post and continue in the direction of the main town Mbabane. 1 Night Swaziland: Accommodation is at a backpacker's lodge inside the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, which offers an incredible African experience at backpacker rates. The hostel is close to the Main Camp where hippos are fed at 3pm every day and most evenings there is free traditional Swazi dancing. Enjoy a spectacular horse ride, mountain bike or walking trail through this natural wonderland where wild animals roam freely. Activities include the Swazi market, the Ngwenya Glass factory, or a visit to a Swazi Cultural Village to experience energetic Swazi dancing. The currency of Swaziland is the Emalangeni which is interchangeable with the South African Rand (R1 = E1). English and siSwati are the official languages. Exit Swaziland at a northern border post and continue to the Kruger National Park. 3 Nights Kruger National Park: Stay at 3 different camps which gives you the opportunity to view game as you travel from one camp to the next. Accommodation is in huts with communal kitchen and ablution blocks.
1 Night Graskop: Exit the Kruger Park and drive southwest, passing the amazing Blyde River Canyon to the viby tourist town of Graskop - much to see and explore - see Travel Manual. It is also close to many beautiful places such as God's Window and several waterfalls. Your last leg of this tour is a drive back to Johannesburg where you return your rental car at the airport and depart back home.
Note: This tour can be upgraded to backpacker rooms accommodation instead of dormitories or 3-star, 4-star or 5-star B&B or guest house accommodation. Extra days can be added on or dropped to suit your individual needs.
